The select Spruce top, Maple back, sides, neck and Rosewood fretboard all have warm tonal characteristics. These 3 high quality woods give the EJ200CE acoustic a lot of resonance and sustain too. The shadow preamp system is specially customized to the EJ-200CE guitar to give the guitar the most balanced tone possible and a lot of projection.

Epiphone EJ-200CE Acoustic Electric Beginner GuitarAnother thing about the Epiphone EJ-200CE is that it stays in tune very well. The Maple neck and Rosewood fretboard are both very durable woods that are resistant to the tension in the neck of the guitar. Also there is a truss rod in the neck that will keep it perfectly straight so the strings stay in tune better. All Epiphone guitars have a special 14 degree bent headstock which increases pressure at the nut and relieves pressure from the tuning machines, resulting in less slippage in the tuning.

The only thing that I can find wrong with the guitar is that the truss rod could use a little bit of adjusting when you first get it, but that’s a very cheap and easy job to do or have someone else do for you. This guitar is a great guitar once it is set up, and it will last you throughout your acoustic guitar career.

“I bought this guitar from Amazon 4 years ago and I have been really pleased with it. It sounds great unplugged, but really comes alive when you plug it in…..Great for open microphone nights. A really lovely tone and fantastic value for money. Compares well against, Martins, Gibsons and Taylors.”

Rafael P,

“I bought this guitar for my son. He is loving it, so… also am I. It sounds perfect, has gorgeous build. Some extra goodies the en-user has mentioned: How easy the tuning is with a built in in-tune indicator and new guitars don’t usually come with such nice set of strings..”
